In an unexpected twist, Joe Biden has seemingly become a part of former President Trump's social media platform, TruthSocial. The official Biden campaign account, known as BidenHQ, made its debut on the platform by sharing its first "Truth" this afternoon.
Currently, the account boasts 1.25k followers and follows just one account, @RealDonaldTrump, though this is likely a default setting. Citizen journalist Behizy appears to be the first to respond to Biden's presence on the platform by asserting, "The 2020 election was rigged, and Trump won."
The Biden campaign just made its initial TruthSocial post, and I had the honor of being the first person to welcome them to the platform.
The follow-up Truth from the Biden camp takes a swipe at President Trump, using a clip from Ron DeSantis, in which he discusses adding $7.8 trillion to the national debt, while not acknowledging the $3.1 trillion added during the pandemic.
FOX News reported that the Biden campaign's objective is to "inject their message" into GOP primary coverage and address any "misinformation and disinformation" about President Biden that might surface on the social media platform.
A senior campaign aide remarked, "There's very little 'truth' happening on TruthSocial, but at least now it'll be a little fun."
Campaign officials also revealed their intention to hold "MAGA accountable on their own platform," referring to their established account on "X," formerly known as Twitter, where they share content related to Republican politicians and candidates challenging their opponents.
While former President Trump recently faced a gag order in a Washington DC case, his campaign spokesperson, Steven Cheung, expressed his view to FOX News, stating, "Crooked Joe Biden and his team are finally acknowledging that TruthSocial is hot as a pistol and the only place where real news happens."
TruthSocial CEO Devin Nunes extended a welcome to Joe Biden, emphasizing that TruthSocial is a "free, open platform."
As of the time of writing, the acquisition company associated with TruthSocial, $DWAC, has seen a 0.55% increase in value.
